Youth Advisory Council
The Redwood City Council authorized the development of a Youth
Advisory Council (YAC) just after the opening of the new Red Morton
Community Center in January of 1994. The goal of the YAC is to provide
a forum in which middle school and high school age youth can make
youth needs known to the City. The Council is currently working
on the development of a skate park in the City; youth dances; and
teen coffee shop concept. Up to eleven members are appointed to
the Youth Advisory Council, but there are opportunities for others
to serve on various committees
