Community Invited to Be a Part of the Plan -The New General Plan and the Future of Redwood City
Redwood City, CA - September 10, 2008 - Families, friends, neighbors, business owners, students, and the entire community are invited to Be a Part of the Plan! It’s a unique and thought-provoking community workshop on developing Redwood City’s New General Plan - Saturday, September 27, 2008. Participants can drop in any time from 9 am – noon at the San Mateo County History Museum & Courthouse Square.
The people who live and work here are deeply interested and involved in our community’s quality of life – and this is an opportunity to help create the blueprint for Redwood City’s future. There will be interactive exercises, discussions, presentations, refreshments, displays, activities and fun with prizes and giveaways! Bring the family for kids’ activities on Courthouse Square.
This is guaranteed to be like no other general plan process in any city, anywhere – it’s Redwood City’s unique way of engaging the community to learn what people think about alternative land uses around El Camino Real, the Bayfront, Woodside Road, and neighborhood areas – as well as get their opinions, thoughts, and preferences on many other General Plan issues, like transportation, housing, parks, historic resources, and more.
It’s a great opportunity to join friends and neighbors to hear about the new General Plan, visit stimulating and interesting workshop stations, and offer thoughts and comments to City staff. The General Plan is the document that establishes policies, goals, and programs for the long-term physical development of our community. The community is a crucial part of shaping that future, and the September 27th community workshop is the perfect opportunity to help create the plan that will guide our progress for years to come.
