Redwood City’s Fiestas Patrias Celebrates Mexican Independence Day with Live Music, Dancing, Arts, Food, and More!
Redwood City, CA - September 5, 2008 - The City of Redwood City, Redwood City International, and the Redwood City Civic Cultural Commission present the Fiestas Patrias celebration of Mexican Independence Day!
On Wednesday, September 17th, from 6 – 8:30 pm Courthouse Square will be transformed into a festive, beautiful, and fun setting in celebration of this important patriotic holiday in the Mexican culture.
This is a FREE community celebration! Kids and families will love the Hands on the Arts crafts area, everyone will enjoy trying authentic Mexican food from local restaurants, and there will be a Flag Ceremony conducted by Consul General de Mexico, Ministro Carlos Felix Corona.
The Square will be filled with colorful and glamorous Ballet Folklorico dancing, live Mariachi music, and a very special live performance by Sonora Dinamita (Cumbia music) which begins at 8 pm.
The community is invited to join the fun, and be at Courthouse Square for Fiestas Patrias! A special Redwood City International dinner reception will take place earlier in the evening – interested community members can contact Redwood City International at 368-6246 for tickets to that dinner.
