Redwood City Hosting Electronic Waste Disposal Event
Redwood City, CA - June 24, 2008 - Electronic waste (e-waste) is an ongoing problem for households and businesses. Many people aren’t sure what to do with their old unused or broken television sets, computers, monitors, fax machines, copiers, or other electronics. They know that these items a re not suitable for regular trash or recycling, but then where are they supposed to go? Here’s the answer: Redwood City’s FREE E-Waste Disposal Event, sponsored by South Bayside Waste Management Authority (www.rethinkwaste.org).
This special FREE e-waste recycling event is scheduled for Saturday, June 28th, 2008 from 9 am to 3 pm. Individuals and businesses can simply bring e-waste items to Redwood City 's Public Works building parking lot, 1400 Broadway (between Woodside Road and Chestnut). Proof of Redwood City residence is required. For information on e-waste events in other cities visit www.rethinkwaste.org, and for more recycling options visit www.recycleworks.org .
Here is a partial list of acceptable items for drop-off at Redwood City’s e-waste disposal event:

Unacceptable items include: automotive batteries, household appliances such as fans, floor heaters, smoke detectors, vacuum cleaners, etc., kitchen appliances such as stovetops, dishwashers, microwaves, ovens, stoves, refrigerators/freezers, etc., or large appliances.
